Older adults

Stay strong, steady, and independent at home.

Tony helps older adults in Northern Virginia improve balance, mobility, and everyday strength, with patient one-on-one training in your own home.

01 Why it matters

Small gains make daily life easier.

Strength and balance tend to fade slowly, often without much notice, until a curb, a staircase, or getting up from a low chair starts to feel harder than it used to. The good news is that both respond well to regular, sensible training at any age.

Tony's work with older adults focuses on the movements that matter most for independence: standing up and sitting down with control, walking with confidence, handling stairs, carrying groceries, and getting up from the floor. Training at home means there is no drive, no crowded gym, and no pressure. Sessions are arthritis-friendly and always paced to you.

02 What we work on

Balance, mobility, and strength.

  • Balance and fall prevention. Progressive balance practice, starting with support and building toward standing on your own.
  • Leg strength. Sit-to-stands, step-ups, and supported squats for stairs, chairs, and car transfers.
  • Mobility. Gentle work for stiff hips, shoulders, ankles, and backs, so everyday reaching and bending feel easier.
  • Arthritis-friendly strength. Exercises chosen and adjusted for comfortable, consistent movement.
  • Confidence. Practicing real-life tasks in your own home, where they actually happen.

Free nutrition advice is included, focused on practical habits that support your strength and energy.

  3. Your plan. Regular sessions that progress at a comfortable pace, plus a short routine you can practice between visits.

Tony is a personal trainer, not a physician or physical therapist. Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, and post-rehab training always follows your provider's guidance.

05 FAQ

Common questions.

Is it safe to start strength training later in life?

For most people, yes, when it is done sensibly and progressed gradually. Tony starts with an assessment and scales every exercise to you. Check with your doctor first if you have a medical condition or a history of falls.

I have arthritis. Can I still train?

Yes. Arthritis-friendly training is one of Tony's specialties. Exercises are chosen and adjusted for comfortable, consistent movement.

Can I set this up for my parent?

Yes. Many family members call on a parent's behalf. Call or text (215) 760-0870 or book a free phone consult, and Tony will talk through goals and scheduling.

Do I need any equipment?

No. Tony brings what is needed, such as bands, light dumbbells, and balance tools, and uses sturdy household items like a counter or chair for support.
